I. God’s grace may be shown toward the rebellious.

a. God’s grace is grounded in his own covenant faithfulness.

b. God’s grace never condones our sin.

(God’s call)

II. God’s merciful forbearance is intended to draw us to repentance.

a. God’s forbearance has a limit.

b. God’s mercy calls us to covenant renewal.
